Stellekaya Wine & Cheese Pairing – Sip, Savour, and Support
Start your day with great wine, delicious cheese, and a good cause at the Stellekaya Wine & Cheese Pairing on Friday, 20 March 2026, from 10:30 to 12:30 at 6 Butt Street in Kenton-on-Sea. The Stellekaya Wine Journey is more than just a pairing. It’s a chance to savour bold wines alongside a handpicked selection of South African cheeses, carefully chosen to complement each sip.
Set in the heart of Kenton, this intimate fringe event is a relaxed way to treat your taste buds while giving back. Tickets are R290 per person, and all proceeds go to Eku Paws, supporting animal welfare in the community. Grab a ticket, settle in for a proper mid-morning pairing, and raise a glass to good wine and good company.
Glug-Glug Giving Ladies Padel Tournament
On Friday, 20 March, Glug-Glug Giving hosts a ladies’ padel tournament at Volo Padel Courts in support of the Kariega Foundation. The fundraiser helps sponsor the Ubuntu Cup Sports League, keeping youth from Ekuphumleni, Marselle, Klipfontein and Alexandria involved in sport and mentorship.
Registration opens at 08:30, with matches running from 09:00 to 12:00. Entry is R370 per player and includes an exclusive Glug-Glug player shirt, snacks, and a Jordan bubbles and wine tasting, plus the chance to win a game drive at Kariega Game Reserve. If you’re coming to watch, spectator tickets are R200 and include access, snacks, Jordan bubbles, and a wine tasting.
Terroir & Terrarium
If you’re a plant person, book Terroir & Terrarium on Friday 20 March from 10:30 to 12:30 at 34 Somerset Street. It’s a guided terrarium workshop hosted by Saffron’s Garden, paired with a curated Kirabo wine tasting.
This is a hands-on workshop made easy, with step-by-step guidance and no prior plant knowledge required. At R800 per person, the ticket includes your glass terrarium container, succulents and natural elements, premium potting medium, planting and care advice, a Kirabo tasting, and light refreshments, and you go home with your finished terrarium.
You’ll be in good hands. Saffron is a Kenton-on-Sea local with a collection of hundreds of indoor plants, from hardy classics to fussier, rarer varieties. Over the past decade, she’s learned what actually keeps plants happy, and she’s turned that into a plant business and a book, supported by the wider plant community.
Barefoot Brekkie & Bubbles
Barefoot Brekkie & Bubbles is a relaxed beachfront start to Saturday, 21 March, running at 09:30 at the Middle Beach Clubhouse. Hosted by Dilly Deli and guided by Riette Eggink from Montpellier de Tulbagh, it combines breakfast rolls and coffee with a Cap Classique tasting of selected MCCs.
The setting is part of the appeal. Middle Beach is a local favourite, known for soft sand, gentle surf, and natural rock pools. The Blue Pool is a well-loved tidal pool great for snorkelling and safe swimming, especially at low tide. Mermaid’s Pool is nearby if you want a deeper dip. Middle Beach is Blue Flag accredited and easy to reach on foot from town, with nearby parking and clean restrooms.
Tickets are R250 per person and seats are limited, so it’s one to book if you want a tasting built into your morning.
Olifantsberg Deconstructed
Olifantsberg Deconstructed runs on Saturday 21 March from 10:30 to 13:00 at Pizzarella and is the session for wine lovers who enjoy the “how” behind what they’re tasting. Olifantsberg guides you through the art of blending, breaking down how components come together to create balance, structure and character in the final wine.
Tickets are R150 per person and seats are limited, with a small-group format that stays relaxed and conversational.
The venue suits the tone. Pizzarella is a much-loved, family-run spot with outdoor seating under milkwood trees, close to the beach, and a menu that’s worth planning around. It’s best known for thin, wood-fired pizzas and freshly baked artisan bread, with a strong local following for toppings like fig and camembert, seafood, salami, or avo and bacon.

Indigo
Indigo is a two-bedroom home on Van der Stel Street, about 1.3 km from Kariega Beach, and it suits couples or a small family travelling together. The look leans blue-and-white with terracotta underfoot, giving it a light, coastal feel.
Both bedrooms are en-suite with extra-length king beds. The main bedroom opens onto the courtyard and includes a bath as well as a walk-in shower. The heart of the house is the open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area with a fireplace, leading out to a sheltered courtyard with a braai. There’s a solar-heated plunge pool and a shaded dining area outdoors.
Driftwood
Driftwood is a four-bedroom home on River Road, close to the Bushmans River, with space for up to ten guests.
The bedrooms include three king rooms (each with its own en-suite shower) and a fourth bedroom with four large bunk beds and an exposed truss ceiling, which works well for kids or extra guests. Living areas are open-plan with an indoor braai, a large fireplace, and an 85-inch TV for movie nights.
An entertainment deck links to the garden, pool, and outdoor shower, making it an easy house to use between beach time and festival plans.
Ocean Breeze
Ocean Breeze is a four-bedroom beach house on Kariega Road, set in a treed garden within a five-minute walk of the main beach and the Kariega River. It sleeps up to eight guests.
The master suite opens onto the front patio beside the pool. A second king room also opens to the patio with an en-suite shower, while the queen room shares a bathroom with a twin room that suits children.
The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area is at the centre of the house, with a five-burner gas hob and a wood-burning fireplace. Doors open onto a large patio with a built-in braai overlooking the pool and garden, with a sheltered back courtyard for meals and an outdoor shower for post-beach rinse-offs.
